Puppies Behind Bars - beneficiaries

The Puppies Behind Bars (PPB) program works with prison inmates in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut to have them train service dogs who often go to veterans. I was asked by the organization to conceptualize portraits of the program participants in Fishkill Correctional Facility for a calendar they were producing. The portraits captured the strong emotional bond the puppies and inmates had that benefited both partners. A series of the portraits and documentary images were published by Time Magazine.

Bowery Residents' Committee non-profit (BRC) - beneficiaries

BRC is one of New York City's largest organizations providing housing and services for people experiencing homelessness. The organization and I collaborated on a series of positive, dignified portraits that highlighted individual stories. Each portrait was very much a collaboration with the subjects to ensure they were portrayed in a way they themselves wanted to be perceived. The photos were part of a standing display at a BRC gala.
